Fast Facts:

-32,371 Black students are on free & reduced lunch in Clark County School District (CCSD)
-Over 72% of all Black students in CCSD are living in or near poverty, and nearly 78% in all of Nevada
-Black FRL (free and reduced lunch) students English proficiencies overall are some of the lowest in CCSD
-Black FRL students (32,371) plus ELL students (51,000+) make up nearly 84,000 students representing approx. 23% of the total student    population in CCSD in immediate need of literacy programs
-English proficiencies are as low as 18.3%, 8.19% in math, and in science 13.5% for some Black FRL students
-Teacher vacancies are amongst the highest while highly effective teachers are amongst the lowest in schools with large Black student populations
-Black students are disproportionately more likely to be suspended/disciplined (X3 times) than any other student group
-15% of the entire Black students population make up the IEP student population, the largest disproportionate  rate of all ethnic groups, and studies show these students are often misdiagnosed  with learning disabilities or in fact Gifted & Talented but went untested
-Black students have the least access to career and technical programs, including high skilled/high demand by race, and only 225 Black students received the new Career and College Readiness Diploma, a reflection of lack of access
-Black students are the only student subgroup under-represented in Magnet and Career & Technical Academies. All other racial groups are equally represented or over represented in these high performing high schools, reflecting racial isolation for many Black students on these campuses, who's mission is to make quality education available to students without access
